Description
Early Maturity for Faster Harvests
GS-10 Pencil Pea is an early-maturing variety, taking only 60 to 70 days from sowing to harvest. This quick growth cycle enables farmers to achieve faster returns while maximizing their agricultural efficiency.
Exceptional Pod and Grain Quality
Known as ‘Pencil Peas,’ the pods of GS-10 are long, slender, and visually appealing due to their dark green cylindrical shape. Each pod contains 8 to 10 tender and sweet grains, ensuring superior market demand and profitability.
Robust Growth and Disease Resistance
The plants are vigorous and produce a large number of lateral branches, contributing to an abundant harvest. Additionally, GS-10 is naturally tolerant to powdery mildew, a common disease affecting pea crops, reducing the need for extensive chemical inputs.
Optimal Sowing and Seed Guidelines
For best results, sowing is recommended between late September and mid-November, with early October being optimal for North India. Approximately 30-40 kg of seeds are needed per acre for ideal crop density.
